“Because pollen is typically consumed in very small quantities, the phytochemicals that are contained in it are likely to be the most important aspect of its nutritive value.  These nutrients are far more superior to the synthetic nutrients received from supplements.  In fact, often times people who do not perceive any benefit from vitamin supplements do recognize a difference when taking bee pollen.  These people may not be able to readily absorb and utilize vitamins unless they’re made available in a natural food context.  Clearly, we need to choose an overall nutritious diet-and bee pollen is an important component to consider including.”  (Broadhurt p.11, 2000)
